4-Star LSU WR Enters Transfer Portal Immediately After Lane Kiffin Hire
After weeks of speculation, the LSU Tigers finally got their guy.
Former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin finally announced on Sunday that he was leaving Oxford to accept the head-coaching job at LSU.
Kiffin, who went 55-19 with three bowl wins in six seasons with the Rebels, will replace Brian Kelly, who was fired last month after a 5-3 start.
LSU was considered a preseason national championship contender, but the Tigers immediately fell out of the College Football Playoff picture after a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M — a game the Tigers led 18-14 at halftime.
LSU prying Kiffin away from its SEC rival is huge news in the college football world, but it seems not everyone involved with the program is thrilled about Kiffin’s arrival.

Just hours after the Kiffin hiring was announced, On3’s Hayes Fawcet revealed that former four-star wide receiver Kylan Billiot was hitting the transfer portal.
“BREAKING: LSU WR Kylan Billiot plans to enter the @TransferPortal, per his agency @SetVisionMgmt,” Fawcett wrote on X. “The 6’3 195 WR was ranked as a Top 100 Recruit in the 2024 Class. Will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.”

The 6-foot-3 freshman wideout was the No. 4-ranked player in Louisiana, the No. 13-ranked wide receiver, and the No. 62 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports.
Billiot hasn’t played in any games this season, and it appears he didn’t feel comfortable playing under the new offensive staff under Kiffin that includes offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss Jr., co-offensive coordinator Joe Cox, and WRs coach Sawyer Jordan.
The good news is LSU has equally talented players to replace Billiot in four-star wideouts Jabari Mack and Kenny Darby, and three-star Kervin Johnson Jr. in its 2026 recruiting class.
