5 NFL Teams On Upset Alert Ahead of Week 8
We have reached Week 8 of the NFL season and are gearing up for more great matchups this week. Most teams have established who they are while others are still trying to put all the pieces together for the stretch run of the season.
But like every week, we will likely see some upsets take place from the docket of games. Here at Newsweek Sports, we have put together the top five teams who are on upset alert heading into this week.
5. Baltimore Ravens, @ Cleveland Browns
Entering this game, the Ravens should easily take down the Browns. However, Cleveland will be playing with backup quarterback Jameis Winston for this game. He may be able to help the Browns offensive attack get over the hump and let the Cleveland defense do the rest. AFC North games tend to be defensive slugfests, with a few exceptions, so this game could come down to the wire. The Ravens are the better team but if they aren’t careful, Cleveland could steal this game at home.
4. Green Bay Packers, @ Jacksonville Jaguars
While the Jaguars have been a bit messy this season, they have the firepower to win a game like this. Green Bay has looked a little inconsistent this season despite their record so they could easily drop this game. It will come down to the play of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and if he can limit the turnovers. If he can, Jacksonville could earn a big upset win this week.
3. Buffalo Bills, @ Seattle Seahawks
This is a game that the Bills should win but Seattle has been feisty this season. They could easily defend their home field and send Buffalo home with a loss. The Seahawks’ defense has been better than most people thought they’d be and they could slow down the Bills’ attack. This is a game that feels like Seattle could easily steal to pick up a massive mid-season win.
2. New York Jets, @ New England Patriots
The Jets are a mess right now and are reeling from another loss last week. Thankfully, they get a matchup with the Patriots, right? Think again. New England has struggled since their Week 1 win but their defense can still put up a fight. They’ve already seen the Jets before, granted without star wide receiver Davante Adams, but the Patriots have been competitive this season. If the Jets aren’t careful, New England could leap over them in the division standings.
1. Arizona Cardinals, @ Miami Dolphins
In this game, Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoais expected to return. He will be playing for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Bills. His return will be a welcomed sight as the Miami offense has been terrible without him. This Cardinals team is on full upset alert with the Dolphins star coming back to play this week.
