76ers Make Final Call on Joel Embiid’s Playing Status vs Lakers
Joel Embiid has been in and out of the Philadelphia 76ers’ lineup.
As expected, the team has been extremely cautious with his availability, which has led to a trend of him playing every other game as of late.
Embiid was questionable on the initial injury report for the Sixers’ matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, but the team upgraded him to probable following the morning shootaround session on Sunday.

Will Joel Embiid Take on the LA Lakers?
With everything trending in the right direction, the Sixers will be fortunate to have Embiid in the mix for Sunday night’s action against the Lakers.
The last time the Sixers saw Embiid in action was during the team’s tight 99-98 win over the Golden State Warriors. As expected, Embiid had a minutes restriction, capped at 25 against the Warriors. During the win, Embiid shot 5-13 from the field and knocked down both of his free throws.
The veteran center finished the game with 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists. On the defensive end, he registered one block and finished the game as a plus-two.
The Sixers were back on the court the following night to take on the Milwaukee Bucks. As expected, Embiid was ruled out for the second night of a back-to-back set. The 76ers found success in his absence, winning 116-101 against a Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Milwaukee squad.
Heading into Sunday’s game, the Sixers are 13-9 on the year, winning their previous three games. Embiid has appeared in eight games this season, averaging a little under 25 minutes per game.
The veteran center is shooting 44 percent from the field, producing 18.5 points per game. He is also coming down with 5.4 rebounds per game and dishing out 3.1 assists. The Sixers hold a 5-3 record when Embiid plays this year.
The Sixers and the Lakers are slated for a 7:30 PM ET tip.
