Every day brings another major quarterback throwing their hat into the ring of the transfer portal, and Tuesday night brought another name that will catch the eye of various Power Four schools across the nation.
Arkansas State’s Jaylen Raynor has announced his intent to transfer when the portal officially opens on the second day of January, and he will be bringing his dynamic, dual-threat playmaking ability to a bigger stage in 2026 after wowing the Sun Belt these past three years.
In his three years as a part of the Red Wolves, he threw for 8,694 yards with 52 touchdowns through the air.
With his legs, Raynor was equally as dangerous, rushing for 1,183 and scoring 15 times. Although only 6-foot, he holds a sturdy frame that can take a tackle and bounce off of it to gain more yardage.

Raynor ended his tenure with Arkansas State with a win in the Xbox Bowl against the Missouri State Bears, throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns with no giveaways.
Over his career with the Red Wolves, the team won 21 games and two Bowl games, while Raynor was named Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year in 2023.
He joins a long list of strong quarterbacks who have put their names into the transfer portal, including South Florida’s Byrum Brown, Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt, and Florida’s DJ Lagway.
