Brantley Gilbert Shares Update After His Baby Is Born Mid-Concert
Country rock star Brantley Gilbert has shared an update after his wife gave birth backstage during one of his concerts.
Gilbert, 39, and his wife Amber welcomed a son on Friday, October 11 after she went into labor on a tour bus while he was performing in Tupelo, Mississippi. Gilbert exited the stage to be with his wife before coming back onstage and resuming his performance at the Cadence Bank Arena.
In a post on Facebook on Saturday, the “Bottom’s Up” singer wrote: “So last night might have been the craziest night of my life. Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget.”
“Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
The post was accompanied by a video set to his 2019 song “Man That Hung the Moon.” Gilbert can be seen leaving the stage and running to be with his wife. It then cuts to Gilbert on the phone with his mom, who he informs of the new arrival.
His mom asks how Amber is doing, and Gilbert says: “She’s a freaking savage.”
Clips of the baby, whose name has not yet been released, as well as his wife Amber, are also shown.
He then returns to the stage and tells the crowd, “We got a baby,” as they erupt into cheers and applause and he hugs his band.
Newsweek contacted representatives for Gilbert for comment outside of regular working hours.
Gilbert and his wife Amber, who have been married since 2015, already share two children: a son, Barrett, and daughter Braylen. They announced Amber was pregnant with their third child in an Instagram post on Mother’s Day in May.
Fans who attended the gig commented on the post. Rhonda Steen Glidewell wrote: “I was at the concert in Tupelo! So glad for an awesome experience! It was like we were in the waiting room for you!”
Kim Turner commented: “Congratulations!! We were wondering what was going on! So glad you got to be there for one of the most amazing days of your life! And then you came back and still put on an awesome show for us!”
“It was an amazing moment to get to be a part of last night,” Amanda Brook wrote. “Thank you for sharing it with all of us there in Tupelo.”
