How to Watch Virginia vs Virginia Tech: Live Stream College Football, TV Channel
The Commonwealth Clash takes place on Saturday night as Virginia travels to Lane Stadium to take on arch-rival Virginia Tech. This will be the 105th meeting all-time between Virginia and Virginia Tech in football, with Virginia holding the series lead with a 61-38-5 record.
However, in matchups since the two sides have been in the ACC together, Virginia Tech holds the distinct advantage, winning 18 of the 19 all-time matchups. The Hokies defeated the Cavaliers 15 straight times from 2004 to 2018, and have won the three most recent matchups between these two historic programs. Will that trend continue on Saturday?

Virginia and Virginia Tech enter Saturday’s matchup with identical 5-6 records, meaning this game will determine bowl eligibility for both programs. Win and go bowling; lose and your season is over. Considering these teams aren’t playing for championships this season, that still leaves us with pretty big stakes in Saturday’s Commonwealth Clash.
Virginia Tech is coming off three straight losses, falling 38-31 to Syracuse on Nov. 2, 24-14 against now-No. 12 Clemson on Nov. 9, and 31-28 on Nov. 23 to Duke heading into Saturday’s matchup against the Cavaliers. Virginia, meanwhile, has lost its last two games, 35-14 against Top 5-ranked Notre Dame on Nov. 16 and 33-7 against now-No. 9 SMU.
With a spot in a bowl game this year on the line, Virginia and Virginia Tech’s matchup on Saturday night will have high stakes despite both teams’ mediocre records. Catch the game at 8:00 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
