Owner Shows Up 2 Hours Late, and Her Dog’s Reaction Says It All

A pet owner in Texas thought there would be no problem returning home later than usual. But she quickly learned that wasn’t the case—as her dog had lots to say about it.

Apollo the pit bull, known on TikTok as @apollo.dabarkus, keeps a tight ship in his household regarding schedules. He, like most dogs, thrives off routine. An article from Bond Vet shared that routine contributes to a dog’s physical and mental well-being. Set feeding times will support their metabolism and aid healthy digestion. They’ll feel a sense of security when they know what to expect.

But Apollo was thrown off, as seen in a November 25 TikTok video, when his owner didn’t come home at her usual time of 5:30 p.m. Arriving two hours later, his owner returned, and he didn’t hesitate to tell her exactly how he felt.

In the clip, he sat beside her in bed and started “venting” about her tardiness. His conversation began with low grumbles, getting louder and seemingly barking with disapproval.

The text on the video reads: “My dog venting about how I arrived 2 hours late than my typical 5:30PM… this guy is too strict for me.”

For around 40 seconds, the dog grumbled at his owner, sitting upright and as close as possible to her.

At the end of the video, you can hear the owner laughing and saying: “Leave me alone.” It’s safe to say she got his message.

Apollo’s owner only set up the TikTok account in July, yet the video had amassed over 248,100 views, 65,700 likes and 869 comments as of Thursday.

Immediately siding with the dog, viewers didn’t feel bad the owner was getting yelled at—they said it was her own doing for being late.

“He’s been practicing this for the last 2hrs!!! You better take him seriously!” commented one user, while another wrote: “Two hours is simply unacceptable though. He’s got a point.”

A third person said: “I know he hit you with the ‘You could have been dead in a ditch somewhere and then what?!'”

Someone else pointed out: “Serious business with the lips get stuck in the teeth and the ears become little springs.”

Newsweek reached out to @apollo.dabarkus via TikTok for additional comment.
