Jimmy Butler Agent Goes Off on Shams Charania Following Trade Destination Report

The NBA world was shaken on Dec. 10 when Shams Charania of ESPN reported that the Miami Heat were “open to listening to offers” for star forward Jimmy Butler, with the six-time All-Star preferring a “win-now contender in any trade.”

This caught NBA fans around the world off-guard since Butler had led the Heat to two NBA Finals and an Eastern Conference Finals.

Things got even more surprising when Charania reported that Butler’s agenet, Bernie Lee, has said that Butler was open to joining the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, and Golden State Warriors.

Now, it seems like one person is putting all of these rumors to bed: Bernie Lee.

Lee took to social media to publicly dispute the claims made by Charania, going so far as to say what was reported was “made up bulls—.”

“Alright listen,” Lee said on X. “I gave you a pass yesterday because I was busy but if you don’t stop putting my name on your complete and utter made up bull**** because you know you normally aren’t worth my time to acknowledge.”

Lee continued his comments in additional posts.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do because I’m a middle-aged dad but just know it would indicate severe dislike. World… all this is fabricated. I have never and honestly it wouldn’t help me or the position I represent to do anything that’s been reported by said ‘journalist.'”

Lee then addressed Charania directly.

“Shams, this is your opportunity to say my bad ‘I let chat GPT write my tweets and it went old school Peter Vescey.’ (Shams Peter was a writer in the 90’s) be a trend setter. Invent the new I was hacked. Carry on all. Thank you.”

Butler and Charania have yet to respond to the comments.
