Woman Orders Flowers for Sister in Hospital—Hysterics Over What Arrives

A woman who ordered flowers to cheer her sister up while she was in hospital has left internet users in hysterics with what actually arrived. Needless to say, it gave her sister plenty of enjoyment—for all the wrong reasons.

When Lisa Gulley, 60, went into hospital in November for emergency surgery, her sister, Laura Prill, 56, from Ohio, knew that a flower arrangement would brighten her day. Gulley has always loved dogs, so Prill ordered a bouquet she found online that looked just like a little white dog. At least, that’s what she hoped for.

Prill told Newsweek that she found flowers online that she knew “would be perfect” for her sister. She ordered them straight away to be delivered to Gulley at the hospital the next day.

Unfortunately, the floral arrangement that arrived looked incredibly different to the one advertised online. Instead of petals shaped like a sweet white dog, Gulley got an array of flowers with creepy eyes peeking out; think less canine, more catastrophe.

“I didn’t see them beforehand as they were delivered to her and I live in a different town,” Prill said. “I was shocked because it looked so different. My sister sent me a text and said how adorable it was, but I immediately said that was not what I ordered.”

Prill has chosen not to name the company on social media or reveal it to Newsweek. After the flowers arrived, she contacted the company, but the staff told her there was nothing that could be done.

Thankfully for Prill, her sister thought the flowers were “actually really cute” at first. However, she couldn’t resist showing Gulley what they were supposed to look like, leaving her far less impressed with the outcome.

Prill took to social media (@zeberksepiclife on TikTok) to show the remarkable difference between what she ordered and what she got. The post went viral with more than 1.1 million views and over 131,500 likes at the time of writing, leaving plenty of internet users in hysterics.

She never imagined the post would capture so much attention, but Prill told Newsweek that the laughter and positivity from social media has been the biggest blessing during this difficult time. Even the hospital staff couldn’t get enough of the floral arrangement, and the flowers became a tourist attraction within the hospital.

She continued: “Going viral and seeing all the comments gave us so many laughs. It was the distraction that we needed. She ended up staying in the hospital way longer than expected, so it was a very scary time. But the laughter from some of the comments helped us through it.

“The flowers quickly became a hit at the hospital. Nurses and technicians were talking about the anxiety dog flowers and spreading the word to other floors. Soon, people were coming by just to see them—it was all about the eyes. They were just so hilariously unexpected,” Prill said.

The flowers even caught the attention of another florist on social media, who sent a fresh bouquet to Gulley and another to Prill, too. She never expected this outcome, but Prill is so grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many people online and share this story.

With over 950 comments on the viral TikTok post at the time of writing, internet users couldn’t help but laugh at the haunted look behind the dog’s eyes.

One comment reads: “Imagine waking up from anesthesia and seeing those eyes looking back.”

Another person wrote: “The flowers look like they just survived emergency surgery too.”

A third TikTok user responded: “It reminds me of bad taxidermy in the best way possible.”
