Brad Pitt Spotted For First Time After Finalizing Divorce
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Brad Pitt was spotted on the streets of Los Angeles sporting a new look.
The acclaimed actor, 61, is seen with a salt-and-pepper beard on Saturday, January 25 in photos obtained by TMZ. This marks the two-time Oscar winner’s first public appearance since his divorce from Angelina Jolie was finalized in December 2024, ending a battle that began back in 2016. He was seen clean-shaven a month earlier while on set for his new film, F1, where he plays Formula One driver Sonny Hayes. F1 is set to release in the summer of 2025.
Pitt and Jolie were domestic partners for ten years before finally tying the knot in 2014. Two years later Jolie filed for divorce from the Wolves star, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. They share six adopted kids together: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 16.
James Simon, the legal representation for Jolie, issued the following statement to TMZ at the time of the divorce settlement.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Simon began. “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
Meanwhile, Pitt and Jolie’s son Pax was involved in an electric bike accident, his second in a year, on Friday, January 24, after he crashed into a parked car in Los Feliz. Fortunately, no one was injured. The earlier **INCIDENT took place in July 2024 and landed Pax in the hospital after he crashed another E-bike without wearing a helmet. There were initial concerns that he had a brain bleed but was eventually stabilized and released.
While Pitt has been working on F1, Jolie is coming off Maria, a biopic about Greek opera singer Maria Callas. Despite a buzz-worthy performance, Jolie was not nominated at this year’s Academy Awards.
