Best Celebrity Valentine’s Day Celebrations
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Celebrities love to go all out, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday for dreaming up their biggest gestures.
From a home vineyard to a private concert by a world-famous saxophonist, here are some of the best celeb Valentine’s Day celebrations of all time — and some of the breakups that happened afterwards, despite the over-the-top romance.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West went all out for Valentine’s Day in 2019, three years before the parents of four divorced. The Grammy-winning rap artist knew that nothing but the best would do for his realty star wife and surprised her with a private performance by world-acclaimed saxophonist Kenny G. “No big deal, Kenny G in my living room!” Kardashian quipped on Instagram, after coming home to live music by the classical music superstar, who was standing her own living room surrounded by roses.
Offset and Cardi B
For rap artist Offset bigger is better when it comes to Valentine’s Day. In 2021, he surprised his now ex-wife Cardi B, with whom he shares three children, with hundreds of roses and heart-shaped balloons, including a big heart on her bed and a balloon rendition of the word “love.” “I’m feeling love,” the WAP singer said in an Instagram Story, but she filed for divorced in July 2024.
David and Victoria Beckham
Soccer star David Beckham and fashion designer wife Victoria have proven that celebrity love can go the distance. Now married for 25 years, in 2006, Beckham surprised his wife with an $8 million diamond and ruby Bulgari necklace, which the former Spice Girl donned to the Met Gala a few months later.
Justin and Hailey Bieber
Does pop star Justin Bieber have a sweet tooth? If so, wife Hailey was celebrating it when she picked out a $10,000 bejeweled piece of art in the shape of a Dreamsicle popsicle. Only 10 were made by artist Dan Life, who applied more than 12,000 pink and white crystals to each piece by hand.
Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn
If nothing says romance like a bottle of red wine, what does gifting a whole vineyard mean? Actor Jerry O’Connell had the California home he shares with wife Rebecca Romijn fitted with its own vineyard in 2009, landscaping their property with merlot and cabernet grape vines. The couple had been married two years at the time.
Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox
Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, who is pregnant with their child, broke up in November 2024. But they were certainly hot and heavy in 2021, when MGK took to Instagram with a post that deemed Fox his “bloody Valentine.” He revealed that he was wearing a drop of his love’s blood in a necklace.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s Valentine’s Day gifts to each other in 2023 have proven more permanent than the relationship itself. The couple got tattoos of their names, with Affleck’s body art featuring two arrows and the letters “J” and “B.” Lopez showed off on social media an infinity sign on her rib cage with “Jennifer” and “Ben” written in sweeping cursive. Her caption read, “Commitment,” but their divorce was finalized January 6, 2025.
