Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

While Sean “Diddy” Combs remains in jail — he’s been in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since September 2024 — his ex Casandra Ventura continues to move on.

On Wednesday, February 19, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, 38, took to Instagram to announce that she is pregnant with baby No. 3 with husband Alex Fine. The carousel post opened with a black-and-white portrait — an open button-down blouse revealed her baby bump — with her two daughters, and the caption: “🤰🏽💙 #3.” Later pics included Fine, 31, whose last name she uses on the social media platform.

The blue heart immediately ignited the post’s comments section, with fans guessing that it indicated she is pregnant with a boy.

“Yaaayy!!” commented singer Ciara. “So beautiful!” Former Real Housewife Kim Zolziak Biermann raved, “So happy for you.” Added actress Jessica Alba, “Congrats!!!”

The news of Ventura’s expanding family comes more than a year after the “Me & U” pop star settled her rape and abuse lawsuit with Combs in November 2023, six months after a surveillance video emerged of Combs, 55, physically assaulting Ventura.

The couple dated from 2007 to 2018, having met two years prior when Ventura was 19. At the time, Combs was with model Kim Porter, the mother of four of Combs’ seven children. Porter died in 2018.

Ventura met her now-husband soon after she and Combs ended their decade-long relationship, going Instagram official just two months later. The pair married in Malibu on August 28, 2019 and had daughter Frankie, 5, four months later. Daughter Sunny, 3, was born in March 2021. Fine is an entrepreneur, actor and professional bull-rider.

Ventura’s legal action set in motion dozens of additional lawsuits against Combs, including rape and sexual assault allegations from more than 100 men, women and minors.

The Bad Boy mogul was arrested on September 16, 2024 on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail, which means he will stay in federal detention until his trial begins on May 5. If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to life in prison.

Combs has denied all allegations through his attorney, Erica Wolff, who said in a statement on October 1, 2024, “Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.” Wolff has also said that Combs plans to testify in his own defense in court.
