Two of the top teams in the SEC will go head-to-head on Saturday night as Kentucky hits the road to take on Alabama in what promises to be a high-stakes college basketball showdown.

Alabama enters the matchup with a 21-5 record and a 10-3 record in SEC play. However, the Crimson Tide are in a bit of a funk at the moment, entering this weekend on a two-game losing streak. Those losses came at the hands of rival Auburn last weekend 94-85 and then to Missouri on Wednesday, 110-98.
The Crimson Tide’s schedule doesn’t get any easier going forward. Even after the Kentucky game, Alabama’s last four games of the season will be against ranked teams. Such is life in the loaded SEC this year.

This will be the second matchup in roughly the last month between these two programs, as Kentucky and Alabama faced off on Jan. 18. Alabama came out victorious that day, defeating the Wildcats 102-97 behind an impressive 25-point, 11-rebound performance by forward Grant Nelson. Mark Spears also had a great game in the win, scoring 24 points and dishing out nine assists.
Kentucky, meanwhile, is 18-8 this season and 7-6 in SEC play. The Wildcats are coming off a win, however, having just defeated Vanderbilt 82-61. Otega Oweh led the way for Kentucky in the win with 20 points and seven rebounds. Amari Williams was also solid in the outing, scoring 17 points and securing six rebounds.
