Bucks Injury Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kyle Kuzma Status Revealed vs Cavs

The Milwaukee Bucks are set to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks will look for their 37th win of the season after a heartbreaking loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday night, 111-109.

Outside of Saturday’s loss, the Bucks have been one of the hottest teams since returning from the All-Star break. They have won seven of their last nine games, and are positioned to have a home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

That would allow us to get with plenty of games left on the season, but with how hot they are looking, it is realistic.

Milwaukee will again have their hands full in this matchup against their division rivals. However, they will have two of their top forwards, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kyle Kuzma, for this contest.

Antetokounmpo and Kuzma, who landed on the injury report prior to the game, have been upgraded to available and will start against the Cavaliers.

Antetokounmpo will suit up in his 10th consecutive contest during the second half of the Bucks’ back-to-back set.

The club continues to list the two-time MVP on the injury report due to a lingering left calf injury, but he has appeared in all nine of the club’s outings since the All-Star break. During that time, he has averaged 27.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists across 29.6 minutes per game.

Antetokounmpo played on Saturday night, and while he put up great numbers, it came in the loss. The Greek Freak notched 37 points on 15-for-23 shooting from the field, 11 rebounds, four assists, and one steal over 35 minutes.

Antetokounmpo has five double-doubles and one triple-double over his last seven contests, a span in which he’s been one of the most productive players in the league with averages of 28.8 points, 13.1 rebounds and 6.7 assists per contest.

As for Kuzma, he landed on the injury report due to a left ankle sprain.

Kuzma has yet to miss a game due to injury for the Bucks, and that will remain the case in the second leg of this back-to-back set. Over his last 12 games (all starts), Kuzma has averaged 15.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.7 minutes per game.

The 29-year-old was traded to the Bucks prior to this year’s trade deadline. The Bucks have only lost four games, going 9-4 with Kuzma on the court.
