Stefano Domenicali Signs Extended Deal As F1 President and CEO
Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali has signed a contract extension that will keep him in post through 2029.
Domenicali’s extended deal was announced by Formula 1 and reported via the official F1 website, with the Italian extending his agreement with F1 owners Liberty Media for another five years to take him through the 2029 season.

Former team principal of Ferrari and latterly CEO and president of Lamborghini, Domenicali has been at the helm of F1 since joining the organization as CEO in 2021, replacing the outgoing Chase Carey.
Since taking over, Domenicali has overseen the explosion in popularity of F1 across the world, but particularly in the United States, where the success of Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive docuseries has had a huge impact by introducing the sport, its drivers and team bosses to a brand new market.
Now, with the 2025 season set to get underway in Melbourne, Australia this weekend, Formula 1 have announced that Domenicali will continue to head F1 towards 2030.
“I am honored to continue to lead this incredible sport, which I love and has been part of my life since my childhood and grateful to the Liberty Media Team for their trust,” said Domenicali.

“Together, with all the relevant F1 stakeholders, we will continue to serve the best interest of our fans, as they are the heartbeat of everything we do. The passion, the energy and the adrenaline are the fuel that powers me every day to give my absolute best to Formula 1.”

Domenicali’s contract extension was hailed by president and CEO of Liberty Media Derek Chang, who said, “We are thrilled to renew Stefano and look forward to his leadership alongside the talented management of Formula 1 for the years ahead.
“Stefano has been an excellent steward of the business, building on its successful foundation and accelerating Formula 1’s rate of growth both commercially and in fan engagement.
“His energy and enthusiasm for the sport translate into highly effective strategy and results. On behalf of Liberty, we are thankful for his partnership and incredibly optimistic about the continued success the F1 team can drive for the sport, our fans, partners and shareholders.”
