Top NFL Trade Candidates After Free Agent Signings

Many free agent signings have been made so far, with teams filling holes with cap space. However, not every team has been successful filling every hole, meaning the trade market is the next step.

While it isn’t easy to find players who fill needs waiting to be traded for, there are some talented players who are at least potentially available.

If a team is willing to pull the trigger and give up some draft assets, they could potentially get some nice values.

Here are the top players available for a trade that could help a lot of teams.

Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets

The New York Jets are in a full rebuild so they’d rather not trade away a 24-year-old receiver, but Wilson has expressed frustrations in the past with the team. If he vows not to resign with the team, a trade sooner rather than later is possible.

Any team in need of a receiver would be happy to trade for Wilson. With one year left on his deal, if a team is willing to immediately sign an extension with Wilson, trading significant draft capital would be well worth it.

Trey Hendrickson, EDGE, Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are spending so much money on their offense, that they are running out of money to spend on their defense.

That likely leaves Hendrickson as the odd man out. He is the top potential option for any team looking for an edge rusher. At 30 years old and with one year left on his contract, like with Wilson, as long as the team can sign a contract extension, Hendrickson would be well worth trading for.

Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins, QB, Atlanta Falcons

Cousins has been a rumored target for every quarterback-needy team, but it is still unclear if he will actually be traded.

The Falcons may take some convincing to give up a mentor for their new young quarterback Michael Penix, but he is making significant money at 37 years old to be the backup.

The previous two players mentioned are younger, more talented options, but with limited options at the position, Cousins may be worth trading for a team in need of a starting QB.

Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens

Andrews has been a rumored trade candidate ever since he dropped a potential game-defining touchdown pass in the playoffs against the Bills. That especially applies when the team has a good young backup in Isaiah Likely.

Andrews is also in the last year of his contract, and at 29 years old, would be an intriguing tight end trade candidate for many teams looking for a veteran to help out their young quarterback. At likely his lowest value ever now is a good time to try and trade for the veteran tight end.
