Tornado Live Weather Tracker: Where Warnings and Watches Remain In Effect

Weather experts have predicted heavy tornado activity and storm winds across several states, issuing warnings to residents over the weekend.

The Context

March normally marks the start of tornado season in the United States, with an uptick in storm activity along the region nicknamed “tornado alley,” which normally runs through the Plains and Deep South but in recent years has included states like Tennessee, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Tornadoes pose a severe risk to life and property, with their powerful winds capable of destroying homes, overturning vehicles, and uprooting trees. The most dangerous tornadoes can be long-tracked and violent, causing widespread devastation over large areas.
