Why NBC Is ‘Less Than Happy’ With ‘Traitors’ Gabby Windey
Gabby Windey, one of four winners of Season 3 of The Traitors, said that though she has received her prize money, NBC is “less than happy” with her after her win.
The update came during a segment of her podcast, Long Winded with Gabby Windey, where she described her current state of exhaustion following the show’s intense filming and promotional schedule.
Her remarks followed reports last month that raised questions about whether Windey had been compensated for her win on the reality competition show, which wrapped its third season earlier this year.
Newsweek reached out to NBC Media via email for comment.

Who Is Gabby Windey?
Gabby Windey rose to national prominence as a finalist on Season 26 of The Bachelor and later as a co-lead on Season 19 of The Bachelorette alongside Rachel Recchia.
A former ICU nurse at the University of Colorado Hospital and cheerleader for the Denver Broncos, Windey has since appeared on multiple reality series, including Dancing With the Stars and, most recently, The Traitors. She is married to TV writer Robby Hoffman.
Who Won the Last Season of ‘The Traitors’?
Windey was crowned the co-winner of Season 3 of The Traitors, along with influencer Dylan Efron, aristocrat Lord Ivar Mountbatten, and Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Delores Catania. The show’s finale and reunion aired on March 6.
The show, hosted by actor Alan Cumming and set in a remote Scottish castle, features reality TV veterans and celebrities working together—and often deceiving each other—in challenges for a cash prize.
The celebrities split their earnings evenly. According to NBC, the final prize pot was $204,300, which equates to $40,860 per person.
What Did Gabby Windey Say About ‘The Traitors’ Prize Money?
Questions about whether Windey had received the money were raised after she appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last month with fellow winner Efron.
“Still haven’t seen a dime,” Windey told host Andy Cohen, indicating that while winning was a highlight, not receiving her payout was a letdown.
But this has since changed. On a subsequent episode of her podcast, Windey clarified the situation, saying, “You will be happy to know I received my money.”
What Did Gabby Windey Say About NBC?
Roughly 14 minutes into the podcast, Windey spoke about needing a spa day after her demanding work schedule: “I was in New York. I was incredibly stressed. I’m coming off of a two-week straight work trip. Can you imagine me flying here, flying there, ending up in New York, filled with tears in the morning?”
Though she did not name the show, fans believed she was speaking about The Traitors, particularly because she referenced the filming location.
She suggested that the network had higher expectations for her post-show appearances and conduct, saying, “They need more outta me,” adding: “Even though I spent six to seven weeks in middle of nowhere, Scotland, spending time with the crossdresser who I love. But that’s besides the point.”
Windey went on, saying that the networking’s dissatisfaction with her behavior is “the way we need it to be.”
“Because how [else] are we gonna be known in the world? Oops, I’m sorry. I screamed on live TV three different times. I didn’t know it would cause such a stir,” she said.
Windey also recounted her attempt to decompress: “I need to relax. I need to clear my mind, which I normally do at the spa.”
What Is Gabby Windey Doing Now?
Windey is continuing her run as a reality TV fixture and podcast host. She married Hoffman in January 2025.
Since winning The Traitors, she has stayed active in media appearances, though she has signaled a need to step back. “I’m not done working yet,” she said on the podcast, suggesting more could be expected of her professionally even after her televised victory.
