One of the most popular wrestlers of the 80s and 90s, the public response to Hogan has waned in recent years due to controversies surrounding the six-time WWE Champion.
This echoes the sentiment of one particular pro wrestling legend, who is of the belief that no one should believe whatever Hogan says.

In the upcoming Peacock series ‘Becoming a Spectacle,’ The Undertaker and Bret “The Hitman” Hart detailed how Hogan showed up to WrestleMania IX with a massive black eye that many assume was given to him by “Macho Man” Randy Savage.
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Hart stated that while he doesn’t recall exactly what happened, it’s best not to trust the Hulkster.
“Hulk Hogan’s always been such a liar,” Hart said. “Whatever he tells you is probably not true. Macho Man, I’d go by his account of things. Macho Man was a much more reliable guy that spoke the truth.”
That being said, Hart also noted that people showing up with shiners wasn’t a rare occurrence, although there was usually am unbelievable story as to how they got them.

Hart and Hogan have been at odds for decades, with Hart accusing Hogan of putting a wall on his WWE career.
This feud carries on today, with Hogan having called out Hart for being too arrogant. Hart responded on an episode of The Ariel Helwani Show.
“I heard something a few months ago where Hulk Hogan was talking about me, and he said, ‘The problem with Bret Hart is that he really does think he was the greatest wrestler of all time,'” Hart said. “I remember thinking about that, and going, ‘Hmm. Yeah, maybe.’ That might be the most truthful thing he’s ever said.”
“Then I think when you watch a lot of the wrestlers today, you don’t see anybody imitating Hulk Hogan or Ultimate Warrior. You see a lot of wrestlers today really trying their best to capture my style, or some of the guys that I worked with, like Dynamite Kid, or Curt Hennig, my brother Owen [Hart] and stuff like them. Yeah, they’re wrestling my style, and that’s the biggest compliment I can get from today’s generation is that.”
Hart’s not wrong. As time goes on, The Hitman is still seen as one of the most beloved and respected wrestlers to step into the squared circle. Meanwhile, the opinion of Hogan continues to decrease among wrestling fans.
