Adorable Reason Golden Retriever’s Favorite Stuffies Are Always Wet

In a viral TikTok video, the owner of a golden retriever named Sherlock revealed the heartwarming reason why her pup’s stuffed toys are always wet, and users across the platform can’t cope with it.

The clip, shared on Tuesday under the username @sherlock3004, shows the pup dragging his stuffed duck toy to his food and water bowl, where another one of his teddy bears is already lying on the floor, waiting for dinner.

After playing with the yellow duck for a few seconds, he just throws it on his kibble, as if trying to feed it.

“Caught him sharing his breakfast with his teddies and now I know why his teddies are usually wet,” the caption says.

It’s not uncommon for dogs to love their stuffed toys and carry them around all day, but what is it about plushies that captivates our pups so much?

A Dogster article medically reviewed by Dr. Chyrle Bonk explains that often, the reason why dogs love their teddies is that playing with them mimics hunting behavior, which is natural for our pups.

It could also be that the toy feels good to chew on. Being very versatile, toys can also provide comfort when needed. Stuffed animals also make great possessions, and pups love claiming things as their own.

All dogs should have a variety of toys to play with, not just because it’s fun, but because they provide mental stimulation, which is crucial to keep our pups fit, healthy, and happy.

But which type of toys are better for your pup? According to experts at Small Door Veterinary, if your dog loves chewing things off, then chew toys are the most appropriate ones for them.

If they love chasing things, then balls and frisbees are a better choice. Plush toys give dogs a sense of security, and are particularly helpful for dogs who suffer from separation anxiety. Interactive toys like food puzzles are also a great choice.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 166,400 views and 10,600 likes on the platform.
