The most important thing to note about tonight’s game between Minnesota and Golden State is the fact that two-time league MVP Stephen Curry is out due to a hamstring injury.
The Warriors may need to win a game at home to even give Curry a chance to return later in the matchup. That is the cruelty of sports that a streaking Golden State could be eliminated in the second round of the playoffs due to a freak injury to their best player.
With Curry sidelined, the Timberwolves took Game 2 117-93 behind 24 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists from Julius Randle, and 20 points, nine rebounds, and five assists from rising superstar Anthony Edwards. Minnesota also got an unexpected offensive explosion from Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who dropped 20 points in the blowout win.
The Warriors struggled to score without Curry on the floor, but they did get an efficient 18 points from Jonathan Kuminga, who only recently rejoined the team’s rotation. Golden State star Jimmy Butler had a quiet Game 2, scoring just 17 points to go with seven rebounds.
This is a great NBA matchup that will not disappoint; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
