Zelensky Makes Trump, Putin Proposal
🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a trilateral meeting between himself, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin to break the deadlock on ending Moscow’s invasion.
“If Putin is not comfortable with a bilateral meeting, or if everyone wants it to be a trilateral meeting, I don’t mind. I am ready for any format,” Zelensky said on Tuesday, AFP reported, ahead of his visit to Germany the following day.
Direct talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations are expected to continue soon after their first set of negotiations in more than three years took place in Istanbul, Turkey, on May 16, resulting in a mass prisoner swap.
Trump has said a face-to-face meeting between him and Putin is the key to securing a peace deal, and he wants it to take place as soon as possible. But he has expressed growing frustration with Putin after more deadly Russian strikes.
This is a developing article and more information will be added soon.
