Two people have died while hundreds more have been arrested and injured in France after soccer fans celebrated the victory of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest and died in Dax, while a 23-year-old man, who had been riding a scooter, was killed after being hit with a vehicle in central Paris, French authorities said.
The BBC reported that 192 people had been injured and 559 arrested. Twenty-two police officers and seven firefighters were also injured according to the U.K. broadcaster, and Sky News reported an officer remains in a coma following the chaos.
Flares and fireworks were set off, and cars and bus shelters were also destroyed – there have been reports that more than 200 vehicles were set on fire.
