Big Brother’s Response to Little Sister Hitting Him Shocks Viewers
A boy’s unexpected reaction to his toddler sister hitting him has left internet users stunned.
In a clip on TikTok, mom Taylor Lucas (@tayloralucas) shows the aftermath between her eldest son, Jayce, and his younger sister, Zoe. Lucas, 32, explained to her 6-year-old that Zoe needed to apologize for hitting him. What happened next shocked viewers.

As Zoe, 2, breaks down in tears, Jayce is quick to comfort her. “It’s OK,” he tells his sister. “You don’t have to do that, mommy,” he says to Lucas.
Lucas pushes back, saying, “It’s not OK for her to hit you,” but Jayce defends his little sister: “She doesn’t hit hard.” When Lucas reiterates that it doesn’t matter how hard the hit was, Jayce wipes Zoe’s tears and consoles her. In disbelief, Lucas says: “Are you serious? I was protecting you.” The on-screen text reads: “POV [point of view]: your big brother is your protector.”
Lucas told Newsweek that Jayce is a very kind and patient boy in general—especially when it comes to his little sister.
“My husband [Jordan] and I have always made it a point to express to him the importance of looking out for her and ‘protecting’ her,” she said.
As happens between siblings, Lucas added that squabbles are common in their house, but this moment stood out for its sweetness.
“As much as we remind Jayce that she’s still little and she’s not always intentional with her choices, we also have to teach her to respect her brother, so that’s what I was trying to get him to understand, but he wasn’t having it,” she said.
Lucas’s clip, which has been viewed more than 3.5 million times, left TikTok users in shock.
“Wiping her tears?! I cannot,” one user commented.
“What is up with these generations? How they so amazing and emotionally mature right off the bat?” another posted.
Describing the sibling bond between Jayce and Zoe, Lucas told Newsweek how much she loves their relationship.
“As they get older, I’ve noticed Jayce taking on more of the leader and protector role but also they’re just the best of friends,” she added.
As a mom, Lucas said the interaction gives her reassurance. “[It] makes me feel like I’m doing a good job, that’s for sure,” she added. “I have a very close relationship with my sister, so it’s imperative that I help them understand just how important they are to each other.”
As for the reaction online? “Clearly I need to stay out of sibling business but it’s all been positive,” Lucas said.
