Giants Linked To Potential Trade With NL Club For $15 Million Infielder

The San Francisco Giants have been one of the better teams in the league this season, but they still have room to improve their roster. With that in mind, the Giants swung a shocking trade to acquire superstar designated hitter Rafael Devers.
Bringing in Devers helps to close the gap on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the loaded National League West. But a little bit of a gap still remains, so San Francisco is going to need to be aggressive.
But the Giants might not be done there. In fact, they will likely remain aggressive at the trade deadline. They’re still reportedly monitoring trade targets this month.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today recently linked the Giants to Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa in a potential trade this season.

“The New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants are keeping a close eye on versatile Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa, who should be available at the trade deadline,” Nightengale wrote.
Kiner-Falefa, 30, has put together a solid campaign on offense, though it hasn’t been excellent. His main calling is his defense, leadership, and positional versatility.
The Giants have a loaded left side of the infield with Willy Adames and Matt Chapman locked up for the long term. Having Devers adds some depth to the infield, too.
But adding Kiner-Falefa would give them depth all around the field. The veteran can play nearly anywhere on the field, including the right side of the infield and the outfield.
This is the kind of trade that would fit the Giants this season. It’s something they could afford to do, both prospect-wise and financially.
