Steelers, Jalen Ramsey Trade Rumors Receive Update

The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to go all-in on competing for a Super Bowl this season. That much was made clear when they signed future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal.

With the move for Rodgers official, the Steelers have been mentioned in another big-time rumor.

Miami Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey has been rumored to be on the trade block. He has been connected as a possible target for the Steelers as well.

Even though those rumors have quieted down quite a bit in recent days, Pittsburgh still seems like a plausible trade destination. The team could use more help in the secondary and Ramsey is arguably the best player available.

A new update has been given about the rumors connecting the Steelers and Ramsey.

Mark Kaboly, an insider covering the team, spoke out with a brief update about the situation. He believes that Pittsburgh is still listening to a potential deal with the Dolphins.

“I bet you, they’re listening,” Kaboly said.

Adding another cornerback is a major priority if the Steelers decided to make an outside move. They were connected to Jaire Alexander after the Green Bay Packers released him and are obviously still being connected to Ramsey.

Ramsey is now 30 years old. While he may not be the elite superstar that he once was, he proved during the 2024 NFL season that he’s still capable of playing a high-impact role.

In the 17 games he played with Miami, Ramsey racked up 60 total tackles to go along with a sack, two interceptions, and 11 defended passes.

Back in the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Rams, he totaled 88 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, four interceptions, and 18 defended passes.

If Pittsburgh does want to make another all-in move, Ramsey would be the move to make. He would fix a huge need for the Steelers and would give them a true No. 1 cornerback to go up against the NFL’s elite wide receivers.

While it is highly possible that Pittsburgh won’t get any kind of deal done with the Dolphins, it is a team to watch. The Steelers are without a doubt a key player in the Ramsey sweepstakes and it’ll be interesting to see if they decide to get aggressive once again.
