A lightning strike at Lake Murray Public Park in South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon hospitalized 18 people, including 12 children, according to local officials.
Lexington County Public Information Officer Vanessa Diaz told WYFF TV that the strike occurred around 5 p.m. on the Dominion Energy Beach. Of the 20 individuals injured, 18 were taken to local hospitals with the nature of their injuries not yet disclosed. Two others were treated and released at the scene.
