injury update: Khalil Mack (elbow) is questionable to return
— Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) September 16, 2025
Los Angeles Chargers star linebacker Khalil Mack suffered what appeared to be a significant wrist injury and was taken immediately to the locker room.
The slow motion showed Mack getting rolled on, and he looked to be in immediate pain. He went directly into the blue medical tent to get checked out, where he remained for several minutes.
Mack had to be assisted off the field, while his wrist was supported. After leaving the blue medical tent, he had to be carted off to the locker room.

A slow-motion of the injury showcased Mack sticking his left arm out, where it was caught by a Las Vegas Raiders offensive player. The video did not look good, and it appears the Chargers defender may have suffered something rather significant.
Mack already had one sack in the game, including a tackle as well.
The Chargers depend on Mack to get after the quarterback, and the hope is that he did not suffer anything that will knock him out for multiple weeks.
Mack picked up six sacks, 39 tackles, nine passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in 2024, leading to a Pro Bowl nomination. There were moments where it was believed that he would retire, but he returned for the 2025 season under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Mack has been one of the better pass rushers in the league, securing four All-Pro nods, nine Pro Bowl nods, and a Defensive Player of the Year win in 2016. After spending a good chunk of his career with the Chicago Bears from 2018 to 2021, he joined the Chargers in 2022.
Since 2022, he has secured 31 sacks as a member of the Chargers.
