Robert Griffin III Reveals Unfortunate Injuries Suffered In ‘Scary’ Car Crash
Former Heisman Trophy winner and ex-Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III revealed on Friday that he, along with his family were involved in the “worst car accident of our lives” earlier this week, but fortunately everybody involved in the accident in both vehicles was ok.
That said, Griffin III gave an update ahead of the Colorado-TCU college football game which he was in line to call for Fox Sports and revealed that while he’s still going to be calling the game on Saturday night, he suffered two fractured vertebrae’s in his back from the accident.
“Woke up today with a new level of gratitude. Yesterday reminded us that life can change in a second,” Griffin III wrote on X. “Yesterday could’ve been our last day, but God’s mercy said not yet. Everyone in all 4 cars involved in the car accident, including a woman who was 22 weeks pregnant, walked away alive.
“I have 2 vertebrae fractures in my back and I’m thankful for my teammates at [Fox Sports] for taking care of us through all of this,” he continued. “Thank you to [TCU Football] and Dr. Kirk for helping us get the proper and necessary care yesterday… In times of chaos, you find out who has your back and who really cares about you. Thank you guys for all the prayers and well wishes. You guys are the best. No way we were gonna let that stop us or scare us from calling this Colorado and TCU game. Broken back and all, let’s enjoy some football.”
