Donald Trump Says He’ll Speak to DOJ About Ghislaine Maxwell Pardon
President Donald Trump said Monday that he’ll have to “speak to the DOJ” regarding any potential pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite convicted of sex trafficking in connection with Jeffrey Epstein.
In an exchange with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Trump was asked about the Supreme Court rejecting Maxwell’s appeal to overturn her conviction.
Trump responded, in part, regarding Maxwell, “I haven’t heard the name in so long. I’ll take a look at it. I’ll speak to the DOJ.”
He continued, “A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him ‘Puff Daddy,’ asked me for a pardon,” the president said, alluding to Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was sentenced last week to four years and two months in prison. Combs was convicted in July of transporting people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
Collins replied to Trump, “But she’s convicted of sex trafficking. Trump then said, “I’ll have to take a look at it”
