LeSean McCoy Urges Eagles CB to Retire After Poor Showing vs. Giants

For the first time in well over a year, the Philadelphia Eagles have lost back-to-back games — and they were outplayed from start to finish on “Thursday Night Football” against the New York Giants.

New York took a 20-17 lead into halftime before outscoring the Eagles 14-0 in the second half to secure a 34-17 win, stunning their division rivals on their home field.

The Eagles’ defense had no answer for Giants rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, who combined for four rushing touchdowns, while Dart added another through the air.

One major area of concern for Philadelphia continues to be its secondary. After rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell went down in the first half, things only got worse — particularly for 30-year-old Adoree’ Jackson, who struggled throughout the night and was harshly criticized by former Eagles legend LeSean McCoy, who even suggested he should retire following the performance.

“It’s time to RETIRE come on bro… this crazy super SOFT WOW,” McCoy said after Jackson seemingly avoided contact on the goal line.

Eagles fans reacted to McCoy’s harsh comments for the veteran CB.

“4 picks in 8 years, 61 pass deflection in 8 years and Howie signs the Guy,” a fan said.

Someone else added: “I mean if this is retire-worthy then I assume u think Baun should also retire.”

“The entire defense is like they were not shown how to tackle. They made the biggest mistake by getting rid of sweat, and Gardner,” another person wrote.

“Facts, there was no effort in that tackle at all,” one more fan commented.

Jackson spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, where he showed promise early on following an impressive collegiate career at USC. However, his production began to regress as the years went on.

He posted 70-plus tackles in each of his first two seasons and totaled 27 pass deflections and two interceptions during that stretch. Since 2018, though, he has surpassed 60 tackles only twice and has seen his playing time steadily decline.

Jackson spent the last four seasons with the Giants before signing with the Eagles this offseason, hoping to help fill the void left by departures such as Darius Slay and CJ Gardner-Johnson.
