Bills Trade Idea Moves $29.5 Million Fan-Favorite to Pair With Recent No. 1 Pick
The Buffalo Bills are loaded with talent on both sides of the football, and with an opportunity to win a Super Bowl, it’d be questionable to move on from any of those players.

However, if the Bills want to solidify positions they aren’t as strong in compared to others, it might not be a bad idea to move on from some of their talent. Sports Illustrated recently proposed a trade idea that could help them accomplish that by acquiring draft picks.
Matt Verderame of SI pitched the idea of moving on from Dawson Knox for a fifth-round pick.

“The Panthers find themselves in a peculiar position. They should rebuild again, but it might be too soon to pull the plug on what coach Dave Canales has built the past season and a half. It’s the slowest rebuild in the NFL, but they’re at least trying to move forward, unlike a few other organizations.
“The Panthers should see this through with Bryce Young for at least the entirety of this season. Knox, 28, has gotten lost a bit in Buffalo since the team drafted Dalton Kincaid in the first round two years ago. Also, the Bills are starting to utilize rookie tight end Jackson Hawes,” Verderame wrote.
Trading Knox would upset a few fans, considering he has been with the organization for quite some time and is regarded as a fan favorite.

He’s also had some decent moments in the NFL, but over the past few years, he hasn’t been able to do much. Knock has had a quiet start to the 2025 season, with just six receptions and 54 yards, not scoring a touchdown yet.
His best season came in 2021 when he finished with 587 yards on 49 receptions with nine touchdowns. Those days of Knox are long over as of now.
If the Bills could use that pick to make another move, it wouldn’t be the worst idea.
