It’s been three weeks since All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb last suited up for the Dallas Cowboys.
But according to one prominent member of the organization, that could change next Sunday.
Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones revealed in a radio interview on Monday morning that Lamb could be nearing a return after being sidelined for nearly a month with an ankle injury he suffered early in the team’s 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears back in Week 3.
“#Cowboys COO Stephen Jones says on @1053thefan that WR CeeDee Lamb, OG Tyler Booker and WR KaVontae Turpin could potentially play this week against the #Commanders,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Though quarterback Dak Prescott hasn’t had his top target to throw to, the passing game hasn’t struggled as much as initially though thanks to offseason acquisition George Pickens.
The former Georgia Bulldogs wideout has hauled in 19 receptions on 26 targets for 359 yards and four touchdowns in Lamb’s absence.

The Cowboys have the No. 2 passing offense in the NFL behind the San Francisco 49ers. They’re averaging 270.3 yards per game, and Prescott is second in the league to only Detroit’s Jared Goff with 13 touchdown passes.
Potentially getting Lamb back for a divisional matchup would be a coup for the Cowboys. Lamb’s 74 receiving yards per game rank 11th among receivers with 10 or more receptions, and having him opposite a red-hot Pickens could make Dallas’ passing game look even more unstoppable.
