Bengals Give Major Trey Hendrickson Injury Update for Steelers Game

Cincinnati Bengals pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson was listed as a non-participant in each of the team’s three practices this week as he deals with a hip injury.

Hendrickson, the Bengals’ 2025 sack leader, left Sunday’s Week 6 loss to the Green Bay Packers with what was originally identified as a back injury. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but ultimately ruled out late in the third quarter.

Despite Hendrickson missing every practice this week, the Bengals aren’t ruling out a possible appearance in Week 7.

On Wednesday evening, the team listed Hendrickson as questionable to take the field for Thursday night’s primetime matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wide receiver Charlie Jones (ribs) and offensive guard Lucas Patrick (calf) were also listed as questionable on the Bengals’ final injury report. Tight ends Mike Gesicki (pectoral) and Tanner Hudson (concussion) were ruled out.

Head coach Zac Taylor and the Bengals were noncommittal regarding Hendrickson’s injury status throughout the week.

“We’ll see,” Taylor told reporters on Monday. “Early in the week, we’ll have to give it kind of a day-to-day listing here and see where they’re at.”

Hendrickson received a $14 million raise from the Bengals after a contract hold-in this past offseason, bumping his 2025 salary to $30 million. The veteran pass-rusher gets a $1 million bonus if he plays 60% of snaps and the Bengals make the playoffs.

Through the first six games of the 2025 season, Hendrickson has 4.0 sacks, eight QB hits, 15 total tackles and one forced fumble. Despite his solid play, the Bengals are 2-4 to start the season — dropping each of their last four games.

With or without Hendrickson, Cincinnati will look to get its season back on track when they kickoff against the Steelers at 8:15 p.m. ET on Thursday night.
