Cardinals Get Major Update on Kyler Murray’s Return Timeline
The Arizona Cardinals will be without their starting quarterback for the second straight week on Sunday as Kyler Murray continues to deal with a nagging foot injury.
Murray, who missed last week’s 31-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, was listed as a limited participant for each of the Cardinals’ practices this week.
He is officially listed as questionable to take the field for Sunday’s Week 7 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, but reports on Saturday night indicate that he’ll be unable to play.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter says Murray is expected to return to action after the Cardinals’ Week 8 bye.
“Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is expected to return to play after Arizona’s bye week for its Monday night Nov. 3 game at Dallas, per sources. Murray is is expected to miss his second straight game Sunday due to a foot injury, thrusting Jacoby Brissett into the starting role vs. the Packers, per source,” Schefter reports.

With Murray unable to take the field, veteran backup Jacoby Brissett will make his second consecutive start for the Cardinals. In Week 7’s loss to the Colts, the 10th-year NFL signal caller completed 27 of his 44 pass attempts for 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
The Cardinals began their 2025 season with back-to-back wins over the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers. Since then, the team has dropped each of its last four games.

Murray has a 2-3 record as the Cardinals’ starting QB this year, completing 68.3% of his pass attempts for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. The dual-threat signal-caller also has 173 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Arizona’s first game back after their Week 8 bye will be a “Monday Night Football” matchup against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
