Panthers’ Bryce Young Exits Game With Worrisome Ankle Injury
Sitting at 3-3 on the season, a win for the Carolina Panthers would go a long way towards staying in the hunt of the NFC playoff picture. Unfortunately, they may very well be without starting quarterback Bryce Young for much of the final quarter of the game, who limped to the locker room after suffering a worrisome ankle injury.
Through the first three quarters, the Panthers’ defense was able to stifle the struggling Jets offense. So much so that the Jets actually decided to bench starting quarterback Justin Fields in favor of veteran Tyrod Taylor.
Meanwhile, Young and the Panthers’ offense has been unexceptional through three quarters, but did enough to take a 13-3 lead into the fourth quarter.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Young is officially questionable to return to the game due to his ankle injury.

Obviously, the immediate concern is whether Young will be able to return for the final portions of Sunday’s game, and whether his potential absence could loom large in the final result against the Jets.
But given the fact that Young and the Panthers are set to face a far more daunting matchup in Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills, it will be certainly be interesting to see whether this injury for Young will put his status moving forward in jeopardy.
