Yankees Hall of Famer Calls Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani MLB’s GOAT
Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani showed the baseball world why he is held in such a high regard yet again during Game 4 of the NLCS.
In a closeout opportunity for the defending champions, Shohei Ohtani took the mound for LA and punched out 10 batters across six-plus scoreless innings of work. At the plate, Ohtani went 3-for-3 with three home runs, one of which left Dodger Stadium and traveled 469 feet according to Statcast.

Ohtani’s brilliance captivated baseball fans on Friday night, but New York Yankees Hall of Famer CC Sabathia took to Twitter/X to express his feelings towards Ohtani, calling him, “The best baseball player ever.”
Sabathia had to clarify that Ohtani went yard three separate times, in addition to his pitching prowess, leaving an emoji of a goat to signify the acronym Greatest of All Time.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke after Game 4 about Ohtani’s illustrious performance, making a similar point to Sabathia’s.
“That was probably the greatest postseason performance of all time,” Roberts said. “There’s been a lot of postseason games. And there’s a reason why he’s the greatest player on the planet.
“What he did on the mound, what he did at the bat, he created a lot of memories for a lot of people. So for us to have a game-clinching — to do it in a game-clinching game at home, wins the NLCS MVP, pretty special. I’m just happy to be able to go along for the ride.”
As stunning as the performance was, the job is far from finished for the Dodgers. There are four more wins to earn in the World Series before Ohtani’s once-in-a-lifetime game can be a pivotal part of becoming baseball’s first back-to-back champions in a quarter century, or a precursor to a disappointing end to their season.
