An injured WWE star has provided a new update on his health via social media, revealing that he is dealing with a second, pre-existing injury that may require surgery on his neck. This news complicates his ongoing recovery from a significant Lisfranc foot injury he sustained in September while competing at a TNA television taping. Holland’s injury setbacks come at a difficult time, as he recently announced that WWE would not be renewing his contract when it expires on November 14.
In his social media post, Holland first gave an update on his foot, which required surgery last month. He noted that he is scheduled for an important check-up next week. “Next Tuesday I’ve got to go to Birmingham, Alabama, to have the cast cut off, some more x-rays to make sure the foot’s all good, and we can go possibly to partial weight bearing,” he stated.
However, he then revealed the new concern involving his neck, which he was dealing with even before the foot injury. “The kicker is that prior to the foot, I had a neck injury that I was going to get imaging for. I got imaging for the post-foot surgery and I’m going to Birmingham also to see the neck specialist,” Holland said. He explained that the consultation will determine the severity and the necessary course of action, which could range from minor to major.
“I mean, worst case scenario, I’ll need surgery and I’m hoping for the best case scenario which is injections,” he added. “But I’m having some nerve impingement which is sending pain down my arm, so I’m a little bit apprehensive about what’s going to happen because it’s another kick in the balls, really. So I’ll keep you posted.” The former professional rugby player signed with WWE in 2018 and has competed across the NXT, NXT UK, and main roster brands.

The timing of these injuries is particularly challenging for Holland and his family. He previously announced that while WWE will cover the cost of his rehabilitation, his guaranteed pay will end when his contract expires in mid-November. This leaves him in a difficult financial position, as he will be unable to work for any promotion for several months while he recovers. His foot injury occurred during a match against Moose as part of the TNA/NXT crossover storyline.
While Holland’s contract expiration on November 14 is fast approaching, his focus remains on his health. The determination from the neck specialist in Birmingham will be a critical next step in understanding his timeline for a potential return to wrestling, which he noted could be at least six months for his foot alone. In the interim, Holland has stated his intention to launch an online coaching business to help support his family during his recovery period.
