The Clippers managed to get even older in the offseason, adding veteran free agents Chris Paul (40), Brook Lopez (37), and Bradley Beal (32) with returning stars Kawhi Leonard (34) and James Harden (36). LA has exited the playoffs in the first round each of the last three seasons, with Leonard available for just 37 games in 2024-25. The franchise, founded in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, has reached the conference finals just once, in 2021, and has come off consecutive 50-win seasons.
Utah appears committed to a full rebuild after three straight seasons out of the postseason, picking up first-round picks Ace Bailey and Walter Clayton Jr.. However, the team still has veteran Lauri Markkanen and added 37-year-old Kevin Love, along with vets Georges Niang, Kyle Anderson, and Jusuf Nurkić in the offseason. Love might be the biggest surprise on the opening-night roster for the Jazz, as the 17-year veteran was expected to pursue a buyout. Instead, he will mentor young bigs Walker Kessler and Kyle Filipowski.
