Giants Linked to Trade for Explosive $85 Million WR
Epic fourth-quarter collapse against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 aside, the New York Giants have undeniably found a new energy behind the emergence of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and rookie running back Cameron Skattebo.
The dynamic duo will be a terrific trio as soon as star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is in just his second year in the NFL, returns from injury. Unfortunately for the Giants, Nabers tore his ACL in the team’s Week 4 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers, which also happened to be Dart’s first career start.
New York is currently 2-5, but the team is also 2-2 in its last four games and would be 3-4 overall if it could have held on to a 19-point fourth quarter advantage against Denver on Sunday. All of that is to say there is reason for the Giants to consider operating as buyers ahead of the league’s November 4 deadline and capitalizing on the natural momentum the locker room has found.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN linked New York to a deal for Miami Dolphins wideout Jaylen Waddle, who could be on the trade block after his team’s horrendous start and the benching of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa mid-game against the Cleveland Browns last week.
“The team does not plan to trade the player, but interest is there,” Fowler wrote on Wednesday, October 22. “While Miami could be tempted to trade players due to its 1-6 record, Waddle is a building block on offense, and he’s due $36.1 million in cash over 2025-26 — reasonable for a high-end receiver these days.”
ESPN predicted the chances of Miami trading Waddle at just 10%, in large part due to his relative youth (26 years old) and the fact that star wideout Tyreek Hill recently suffered a season-ending injury and could play elsewhere in 2026.
But the Giants are the only team Fowler mentioned as a reasonable trade partner for Waddle, aside from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wholesale changes could be coming to the Dolphins organization, including in the front office and on the coaching staff, so with two weeks remaining before the deadline it’s too early to rule out the possibility that the Giants make a real run at Waddle.
Waddle topped 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first three NFL seasons. He also recently signed a three-year extension worth nearly $85 million total that keeps him under contract through 2028.
