Carson Wentz Hit With Major Injury Concern From Vikings Insider

The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in an important “Thursday Night Football” showdown. Ahead of the matchup, Carson Wentz has been hit with a concerning injury update from a top insider.

Wentz appeared on the injury report due to a shoulder injury, which is something that has apparently been nagging the signal caller. He was a limited participant one day ahead of the Chargers game, but was still named the starter.

Now, Vikings insider Alec Lewis has dropped a concerning update on Wentz.

Lewis indicated that the shoulder “contraption” or brace that Wentz is using looks much larger. Also, he has stated that he believes the Vikings quarterback is playing through a very severe shoulder injury.

It is paramount for the Vikings to protect Wentz, and the good news is they have Christian Darrisaw back. Darrisaw is one of the best linemen in the league, and is important for stopping the strong Chargers pass rush.

If Wentz happens to take hits and is knocked out, the team will rely on backup quarterback and rookie Max Brosmer. J.J. McCarthy is the team’s emergency third quarterback, but the hope for the Vikings would be not to have to rely on him, as he is recovering from a severe ankle sprain.

Wentz is currently 2-2 in the four starts he has had with McCarthy recovering.
