WWE Fans Claim Debut SmackDown Entrance Copied Karrion Kross

After Karrion Kross and his real-life wife, Scarlett, parted ways with WWE, fans believe that another couple’s new entrance on SmackDown may be a copycat. On Friday’s episode, fans saw various stars in action, including WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and the brand-new United States Champion Ilunga Dragunov.

A backstage conversation between Sami Zayn and Dragunov led the new champion to continue the tradition of the open challenge. As Sami explained, he carried on the tradition John Cena originally started, so it made sense for Dragunov to keep it going as the current champion.

After getting to the ring to call for an opponent, fans received a surprise. Aleister Black made a new entrance, this time with his real-life wife, Zelina Vega, accompanying him. Their entrance featured Black’s hard-hitting music along with darkness and smoke on the stage.

Zelina slithered on the ramp in a snake-like manner as Black stood behind her. The couple eventually went to the ring, where they struck a pose with Zelina kneeling and lying backward as Black kneeled behind her.

The couple’s debut entrance on SmackDown drew attention from fans after various professional wrestling accounts shared a video clip on social media. That prompted fans to call out the entrance, suggesting it was copying another one.

“THIS IS JUST THE KARRION KROSS AND SCARLETT ENTRANCE WITH A FEW CHANGES,” one X commenter said.

“So they let Kross and Scarlett go and gave their gimmick to Alestair Black and Zelina Vega. Wtf #WWE #Smackdown,” another commenter said.

Another fan wrote, “I love the entrance but nobody is better than the original.”

“Kross and Scarlett are owed royalties for this,” a commenter wrote on X.

“It’s like………I’ve seen this entrance before. I can’t put my finger on it,” yet another fan wrote.

Kross and Scarlett made headlines after their departures from WWE in August, following the expiration of their contracts. According to Kross, he questioned how WWE arrived at the numbers shown in his contract. He said he was given 24 hours to agree to it and that WWE didn’t include Scarlett re-signing with his deal, so he chose to leave.

Kross, real name Kevin Kesar, has since returned to other promotions, including Major League Wrestling (MLW), where he is using his Killer Kross name. He and Scarlett are part of the promotion’s Nov. 20 event in Charleston, South Carolina.

Although there seems to be a lot of fan criticism towards Aleister Black and Zelina Vega’s debut entrance as a couple on SmackDown, there are also fans who appeared to be in favor of the look. It would be surprising to see WWE change it moving forward.
