Colts’ Jonathan Taylor Enters MVP Conversation With Insane TD Streak

The NFL has inched its way up to the midway point of the regular season, which means it’s the perfect time to discuss who could be the league MVP.

Last season, it was Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen who took home the prize. However, running backs like Eagles star Saquon Barkley and Ravens running back Derrick Henry proved that their position still holds a lot of value on the field.

This season, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is carrying that mantle.

So far this season, Taylor has rushed for 850 yards and has 14 touchdowns, which is the most in the NFL at this moment. Taylor dominated in Week 8 in an AFC South divisional game against the Tennessee Titans, scoring two rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown, and 153 yards rushing.

Eighty of those rushing yards came off of one run.

Taylor took the handoff from quarterback Daniel Jones and never let off the gas, outrunning nearly every Titans defender on the field.

It’s clear the Colts need to be in the conversation for a championship run this year, but Taylor also needs to have his name added to the MVP discussion, which currently starts with Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield.

The Titans have unfortunately seen this from Taylor too many times. In their first meeting in September, he scored three touchdowns against them. Then, back in December of 2024, in their second meeting of last season, Taylor would again score three more touchdowns. Taylor is the first player in NFL history to score three or more touchdowns against one opponent in three straight games.

Taylor has scored 10 of his 14 touchdowns in the last four weeks. That run includes three games with three or more touchdowns, and two games with three rushing touchdowns.

If this continues, Taylor may be hearing MVP chants fill Lucas Oil Stadium in the coming weeks.
