Popular WWE Star Received Major Contract Update
A popular WWE star, who is also a former company champion, received a major contract update months ago, and now the specific details are here. Chelsea Green has gained popularity since returning from TNA Impact Wrestling to WWE and has solidified her future in professional wrestling.
Green has become well known as a heel, including her backstage feuds with the various general managers, including Raw’s Adam Pearce. In addition, she’s been part of several championship reigns, including becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
That established her faction, “The Green Regime,” which features the “Secret Hervice” with fellow stars Piper Niven and Alba Fyre. Before that, she teamed up with Sonya Deville to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. After Deville’s injury, Piper replaced her as part of the tag team champions.

Many fans seem to love Green’s heel routine and antics, and, under WWE’s new contract with her, the company clearly recognizes her talent and popularity. They’ve decided she’ll remain in WWE for the foreseeable future.
According to a Fightful Select exclusive, Green initially signed a three-year contract in 2022, which would’ve expired this year. However, she and WWE reportedly agreed to a new five-year contract that will keep her with the company until 2030.

The 34-year-old Canadian pro wrestling star previously excelled in TNA Impact Wrestling, where she initially went by Laurel Van Ness and later by her real name. Her first run with TNA occurred from 2018 to 2018, before she moved to WWE NXT and SmackDown for several years.
WWE released Green from her contract in 2021 due to inactivity because of a wrist injury. She returned to work briefly with Ring of Honor and then with Impact Wrestling from 2021 to 2022.
She achieved the Impact Knockouts Championship and Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Championship with Deanna Purazzo while there. Green exited the company in 2022 and then officially returned to WWE in 2023. She’ll now be with the company for a long time, potentially allowing for more championships and achievements.
She appeared in recent NXT episodes, including Tuesday night’s show during a backstage segment with NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page, and Joe Hendry.
Green’s popularity is hard to ignore, and many fans continue to hope that her real-life husband, wrestler Matt Cardona, will eventually return to the company, too. That could set up some interesting matches and storylines as the couple pursues big things within WWE.
