The Baltimore Ravens have already defeated the Miami Dolphins on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 9, but one player is still dealing with the fallout from their win over the Chicago Bears in Week 8.
Two-time first-team All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey was fined $46,371 by the league for a personal foul committed against the Bears in which he hit wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus in the facemask with he crown of his helmet. His penalty was the second-largest of the week, behind Washington Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu.
The Ravens led 23-13 at the time.
Baltimore challenged the completion to Zaccheaus. Officials upheld the call on the field that Zaccheaus caught the ball, and the Bears ultimately kicked a field goal, bringing them within a touchdown.

Humphrey and the Ravens’ defense held the Bears scoreless the rest of the way, while Baltimore’s offense scored another TD for a 30-16 victory.
This is the second significant fine the Ravens received this week.
The league also levied a $100,000 fine against the Ravens over their handling of Lamar Jackson’s practice status leading up to the game, though ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on X on October 31 that “the NFL believes the violation was the result of negligence, not an attempt to gain a competitive advantage.”

The Ravens would have faced a stiffer penalty had they been found to have purposely misled the public about Jackson’s status.
Despite not drawing a flag, Humphrey’s situation is much more cut-and-dry.
The Ravens are enjoying an extended wait before retaining the field for practice in Week 10, when they will face the Minnesota Vikings, but Humphrey will emerge from the respite lighter in the pocket.
