Former AEW Stars Go Viral With WWE SNME Link-Up
At “Saturday Night’s Main Event,” plenty of memorable moments occurred with WWE championships successfully defended or changing hands. Among the results were Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship and Dominik Mysterio retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat match.
Jade Cargill captured the WWE Women’s Championship for her first major title since joining the company. In addition, fan-favorite CM Punk won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship again, after holding onto it just briefly at SummerSlam 2025.
Three of the four winners at Saturday’s event previously worked within Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Rhodes famously joined the new professional wrestling promotion after departing from WWE to help launch it.
Jade Cargill was an AEW original who started fresh with the company and immediately rose in fame and popularity, becoming the inaugural TBA Champion and holding it for an impressive reign before eventually losing.

CM Punk would join the company following his foray into MMA with the UFC. However, his time there became marred with injuries and a fiery backstage incident involving a physical altercation. While AEW head honcho Tony Khan claimed he fired Punk for the conduct, Punk claimed he left.
Ultimately, a bridge was mended between Punk and WWE, leading to his return and now his rise to become a major champion again.
Following the “Saturday Night’s Main Event” show, Punk, Jade, Rhodes, and the NXT Champion, Ricky Saints, also formerly an AEW star who left for WWE, got together to pose for a photo that went viral online.
All four individuals smiled brightly in the group photo, which received over 36,000 likes and many comments on X, as people reacted to the special moment.
“Without AEW, none of this happens,” one X commenter wrote.
“LMFAOOOOOO not all the ex AEW champs linking up,” another fan wrote on X.
“Imagine choosing Colt Cabana, Adam Page and the Young Bucks over this. Ouch,” an X commenter said.
Another wrote on X, “A certain someone punching the air,” in reference to AEW’s Tony Khan no longer having any of them in his promotion.
In addition to those reactions, fans mentioned that two other individuals would make the picture even better: former AEW stars Ethan Page and Mariah May, aka Blake Monroe. Page currently holds the NXT North American Championship, while Blake is the NXT Women’s North American Champion.
