Jeffrey Epstein Saga: Who Was Mentioned in the Emails?
Bombshells inside Jeffrey Epstein’s inbox have accelerated the ongoing saga over the Epstein files.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three emails referencing President Donald Trump that were allegedly sent by the late sex-trafficker. Shortly after, more than 20,000 documents tied to Epstein were made public.
On Wednesday afternoon, Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the matter “the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” and accusing Democrats of using it to deflect from the shutdown
But Trump was not the only name mentioned.
Newsweek is diving into the inbox of Jeffrey Epstein and breaking down all the information unveiled from the emails.
For the full release of documents, see here.
Here’s who was mentioned, and what was allegedly said, in the exchanges:
Donald Trump
In 2019, Jeffrey Epstein wrote to author Michael Wolff. He referenced Trump and a victim at Mar-a-Lago.
Epstein: “Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.”
Epstein sent another message to Ghislaine Maxwell referencing Trump’s alleged time with a victim.
Epstein: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him. He has never once been mentioned. Police chief etc. I’m 75 percent there.”
Maxwell: “I have been thinking about that.”
The White House later said the redacted victim was Virginia Giuffre, who “repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever.” Trump has denied knowledge of Epstein’s federal crimes.

The emails appear to challenge Maxwell’s account in a July DOJ interview with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
Maxwell (in July 2025): “I think they were friendly like people are in social settings. I don’t … I don’t think they were close friends or I certainly never witnessed the president in any of … I don’t recall ever seeing him in his house, for instance.”
The new email does not clarify whether Maxwell witnessed Trump at Epstein’s house but suggests she may have known Trump was there with Giuffre for hours. Critics have said she did not disclose that to the DOJ.
Weeks before Trump met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki in 2018, Epstein wrote to Thorbjorn Jagland, then head of the Council of Europe, seemingly suggesting a sharing of details on Trump.
Epstein: “I think you might suggest to Putin that Lavrov can get insight on talking to me.”
In a separate chain without provided context, Epstein says he would be the only one to “take down” Trump.
Epstein: “It will all blow over! They’re really just trying to take down Trump and doing whatever they can to do that…!”
Epstein: “yes thx. its wild. because i am the one able to take him down,”
Trump has also been accused of spending Thanksgiving with Epstein in 2017, though evidence is limited. In emails, Epstein was asked about his plans.
Modeling manager Faith Kates: “Where are you having thanksgiving?”
Epstein: “eva.”
Kates: “That means Glenn check out his red hair!!!!”
Epstein: “david fizel. hanson. trump.”
White House records and news reports show Trump spent Thanksgiving 2017 at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach resort.
Trump has never been charged with wrongdoing in connection to Epstein.
Former Prince Andrew
In March 2011, Ghislaine Maxwell emailed Jeffrey Epstein and “The Duke”, which has been presumed to be ex-Prince Andrew, after being approached by a journalist from The Mail. She said she did not plan to respond.
Epstein: “Just got it two minutes ago. I’ve asked g [sic] lawyers to send a letter. Not sure…it’s so salcisous [sic] and ridiculous, im [sic] not sure how to respond, the only person she didn’t have sex with was Elvis.”
Andrew: “Please make sure that every statement or legal letter states clearly that I am NOT involved and that I knew and know NOTHING about any of these allegations. I can’t take any more of this my end.”
In another chain, Andrew pressed Maxwell again.
Andrew: “Hey there! What’s all this? I don’t know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me.”
Two days later, Epstein followed up with Andrew.
Epstein: “You OK? These stories are complete and utter fantasy. I don’t know and have never met Al Gore. Clinton was never on the island…the telephone book is not mine, it was stolen by my houseman that is currently in prison for doing so.”

By July 2011, Epstein emailed a reporter and appeared to confirm the authenticity of a photograph showing Andrew with his arm around Giuffre’s waist. Giuffre said the photo was taken at Maxwell’s London townhouse the night she was first made to have sex with Andrew in 2001.
Epstein: “The girl has fled the country with an outstanding arrest warrant. The da [sic] after she accused others, said in writing that she has no credibility, she was never 15 years old working for me, her story made it seem like she first worked for trump [sic] at that age and was met by ghislaine maxwell [sic]. Total horse s***, the daily mail [sic] paid her money, they admitted it, with the statement that it took money to coax out the truth. Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew, as many of my employees have.”
Epstein: “Send a reporter or reporters to investigate. The palace would love it, the girl in the photo, was nothing more than a telephone answerer, she was never 15, according to her version she worked for trump [sic], first at that age, at Mar-a-Lago. It’s ridiculous.”
In her book Nobody’s Girl, Giuffre described meeting Andrew at Maxwell’s house in 2001:
Andrew (quoted by Giuffre): “My daughters are just a little younger than you.”
Maxwell (quoted by Giuffre): “I guess we will have to trade her in soon.”
Giuffre died in April after what her family described as a suicide. In 2021, she sued Andrew in New York alleging rape. He settled in 2022 for an undisclosed sum while denying liability.
At the conclusion of the case, Andrew issued a statement.
Andrew (2022, after settling for an undisclosed sum): “Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks. It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others. He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
In another email exchange, Boris Nikolic, former employee for Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates wrote to Epstein.
Nikolic: “Met your friend bill clinton yesterday” and “meeting your friend prince andrew as he has some questions re microsoft.”
Epstein: “you can tell andrew we are friends.”
Nikolic: “I do not need anything from him.”
Epstein: “[Y]es you do, you need to laugh and have fun, he is good at that. Hes great fun.”
Andrew’s involvement in the Epstein scandal became infamous after his 2019 BBC Newsnight interview. He denied Giuffre’s allegations and claimed he could not have sweated during the alleged encounter because of a medical condition. He also said he was at a Pizza Express on the night in question.
The fallout was severe: Andrew stepped back from royal duties, was stripped of military titles and patronages, and more recently lost the right to use “Prince” as a formal title.
He is now referred to simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Michael Wolff

Author Michael Wolff appeared in multiple communication chains with Jeffrey Epstein. In one exchange, Wolff suggested a strategy related to Trump.
Wolff: “There’s an opportunity to come forward this week and talk about Trump in such a way that could garner you great sympathy and help finish him. Interested?”
The most prominent email involving Wolff was made as Republicans prepared for a presidential primary debate in December 2015. Wolff told Epstein that CNN had planned to ask Trump “tonight about his relationship with you,” either during or after the event.
Epstein: “If we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”
Wolff: “I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency. You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt. Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.”
Wolff responded in an Instagram video to the emails saying the following:
Wolff (Instagram video, 11/12/2025):“This morning, the House Oversight Committee released emails directly linking Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. And in fact, some of those emails are between Epstein and me with Epstein discussing his relationship with Donald Trump. I have been trying to talk about this story for a very long time now. And this is, well, perhaps we’re getting close to the smoking gun.”
He added that Epstein and Trump “had the closest of relationships for more than a decade” and shared “everything.” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told Newsweek: “Michael Wolff is a lying sack of s*** and has been proven to be a fraud.
Bill Clinton
In January 2016, Epstein wrote that he had cut ties with Bill Clinton because the former president had given him conflicting statements.
Epstein: “He swore, with whole-hearted conviction to me that he had done something, [but] he had forgotten that he also swore the exact opposite to me only weeks before.”
In a 2015 exchange with New York Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr., Epstein dismissed a victim’s account of Clinton attending a dinner on the island as fabricated.
Epstein: “Clinton was NEVER EVER there, never.”

Clinton has acknowledged knowing Epstein but has denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island or engaging in any wrongdoing.
Larry Summers
In an email to Epstein, Larry Summers, former U.S. Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton and former Harvard University leader who resigned amid comments regarding women, shared his views on intelligence and gender.
Summers: “I observed that half of the IQ in world was possessed by women without mentioning they are more than 51 percent of population.”
He also criticized what he saw as hypocrisy among American elites.
Summers: “I’m trying to figure why American elite think if u murder your baby by beating and abandonment it must be irrelevant to your admission to Harvard, but hit on a few women 10 years ago and can’t work at a network or think tank.”
Summers then cautioned Epstein not to share his remarks.
Summers: “DO NOT REPEAT THIS INSIGHT.”
According to the released emails, Summers was in constant connection with Epstein, including exchanged banter about women. Summers contacted Epstein just months prior to the financier’s arrest in 2019.
Summers: “We talked on phone. Then ‘I can’t talk later’. Dint (sic) think I can talk tomorrow”. I said what are you up to. She said ‘I’m busy’. I said awfully coy u are. And then I said. Did u really rearrange the weekend we were going to be together because guy number 3 was coming’ She said no his schedule changed after we changed our plans. I said ok I got to go call me when u feel like it. Tone was not of good feeling. I dint want to be in a gift giving competition while being the friend without benefits.”
Epstein: “shes smart. making you pay for past errors. ignore the daddy im going to go out with the motorcycle guy, you reacted well.. annoyed shows caring., no whining showed strentgh.”
When Will the Files Drop?
The House will vote next week on whether to publicly release the full set of Epstein-related government records. The move comes after a petition to force a vote surpassed the required threshold on Wednesday.
After a delay, Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva was sworn in and added the final, 218th signature to a discharge petition that requires the vote.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Democrats have “selectively leaked emails” to “smear President Trump” and distract from their role in the shutdown. She added that the emails showed no wrongdoing on the president’s part.
Leavitt also said the administration has done “more with respect to transparency when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein than any administration ever.” Next week, that transparency may be tested as both parties brace for the fallout of making the records public.
