Mavericks Reportedly Have Favorite in Building for Nico Harrison’s Replacement
It didn’t come as a surprise in the slightest that the Dallas Mavericks officially moved on from general manager Nico Harrison.

Harrison clearly didn’t make the right decision when he decided to move on from Luka Doncic in a trade that will never make sense with the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately for Mavericks fans, while firing him might be the right decision now, it doesn’t bring Doncic back.
The Mavericks have been one of the worst teams in the NBA to start the season, and while the injuries are certainly a factor, Harrison clearly made the wrong decision.
Even if the Mavericks went on to win a championship, many still would’ve thought that the Mavericks didn’t make the right decision, and it would’ve been tough to argue against.

As the Mavericks look to hire a new general manager, with the organization announcing that it’ll conduct a massive search, Marc Stein reported that several names are already in the mix. According to Stein, many within the Mavericks organization love Dennis Lindsey, who currently works with the Detroit Pistons.
“There has already been a push among some of the organization’s influential voices to try to bring back former Harrison adviser Dennis Lindsey from the Detroit Pistons,” Stein wrote. “Dallas is first putting assistant GMs Matt Riccardi and Michael Finley in co-interim charge after Harrison’s departure while embarking on an external search to secure the best long-term replacement.”

The Mavericks should have multiple suitors when it comes to who they want to be their next GM.
With Cooper Flagg and some other talent in Dallas, it isn’t like the entire organization needs a reset.
That should intrigue some potential candidates for the job.
