Lane Kiffin Sends Cryptic Message Amid Florida, LSU Rumors

Lane Kiffin is being courted by three major college football programs: the Florida Gators, LSU Tigers and his current team – the Ole Miss Rebels.

Kiffin is the hottest name on the college coaching block and his success in Oxford, MS caught the attention of two rival SEC programs that fired their head coaches earlier this year. According to a new report from The Athletic, “LSU sent a private plane for Kiffin’s family to visit Baton Rouge on Monday, and the Kiffins took a similar trip to Gainesville the day before.”

Florida fired head coach Billy Napier and LSU fired head coach Brian Kelly during the middle of the season, opening the door for Kiffin to choose a bigger SEC program if he wishes.

As that decision looms, the head coach took to social media with a cryptic message by quoting The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest.

How do you know what to do next? You ask yourself, honestly, what your 90-year-old self would advise you to do. What they would have wished you had done. You ask yourself, honestly, what you’ve sensed from the beginning. What you have ignored, what you have quieted and distracted yourself from,” the quote reads. “You make two lists, the positives and the negatives, and you weigh them. And if there is one thing on the left that overpowers the dozen things on the right, then you trust that. You ask yourself what path will make you more of the person you are meant to be.”

As Kiffin weighs his choices, Ole Miss reportedly hit the head coach with a deadline of the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State on Nov. 28 to make a decision. It’s unclear what Ole Miss plans to do if Kiffin doesn’t make a decision by the deadline.
