Who is Natalie Greene? GOP Staffer Accused of Faking ‘Trump Whore’ Attack

Natalie Greene, who once worked for the Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew, has been charged with allegedly staging her own violent assault.

According to prosecutors, Greene paid someone hundreds of dollars to slice cuts into her body and write the words, “TRUMP WHORE,” on her.

Newsweek has contacted Greene’s attorney outside of regular working hours via email for comment on this story.

Why It Matters

On July 23, 2025, a call was made to 911 by a woman, now described as a “co-conspirator,” of Greene’s, where this woman reported that she and Greene had been attacked by three men while out walking on a trail at a nature preserve in Egg Harbor Township.

It was alleged that Greene had been attacked by a group of men, one of whom had a gun and one of whom called Greene by name, referencing specifically her employment with a federal official. Greene claimed that she was held down while men cut her and wrote on her body.

What To Know

Greene, 26, is a former congressional staffer. She is from Ocean City, New Jersey.

Greene’s LinkedIn page states that she is a candidate at Rutgers Law School and was a Constituent Advocate Director from 2022 for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Greene is now facing charges of conspiracy and making false statements to law enforcement.

In legal documents viewed by Newsweek, it is stated that investigations into the complaint made by Greene on July 23, 2025, found that Greene had allegedly paid someone to make cuts to her body and that the entire attack was staged.

The person Greene had paid was a “body modification/scarification artist,” the documents say. Federal agents went to this artist’s studio and obtained a receipt which showed Greene had paid $500 for the cuts to be made on her body.

The words “TRUMP WHORE” and a message which read Van Drew “IS RACIST” were written on Greene’s body.

Van Drew was not named in the suit, but it has been confirmed that he was the representative Greene was working for. In a statement given to CNN, Van Drew’s office confirmed that Greene no longer works for them and added that they “hope she’s getting the care she needs.

What People Are Saying

Representative Jeff Van Drew’s office in a statement to Newsweek: “We are deeply saddened by today’s news, and while Natalie is no longer associated with the Congressman’s government office, our thoughts and prayers are with her.”

The legal filing reads in part: “NATALIE GREENE, did knowingly and intentionally conspire and agree with Co-Conspirator 1 and others to commit certain offenses, to wit: the conveying of false and misleading information, namely that three men threatened Greene with a gun while binding her with zip-ties, under circumstances where such information may reasonably have been believed, that indicated that such an activity had taken place.”
